Privacy, money and terms.

Privacy
We don't know who you are. CreditSelect has no login. We never ask for your name, phone number, email, PAN, Aadhaar or card numbers, and we never check your credit report.
What happens to what you tell us
- Card matching runs in your browser. Your spends, income range, work type, city size and CIBIL range are not sent to us or stored. If you enter a PIN code, it's only used on your device to guess your city size, and is never saved or sent.
- The describe box. Your words are first read on your device. If "Use AI to understand" is on, the text is sent through our server to an AI model (Anthropic's Claude) only to turn it into spend categories. We don't store it, and Anthropic doesn't use it to train models. Turn the switch off, or turn on privacy mode, and nothing is sent.
- Words we didn't recognise. If the site can't place something you wrote, you can choose to send us just those words, with all numbers removed, so we can learn them. Nothing is sent unless you tap "Send these words", and it isn't linked to you in any way.
- Questions about a card's terms. When you ask a question on a card's page, it is sent to our server, which searches the bank's published terms and asks an AI model (Anthropic's Claude) to answer using only those terms. Before that, we remove anything that looks like an email address, phone, card, PAN or Aadhaar number. We keep the question text (not who asked it) so the same question is answered instantly next time, and we may show common questions and answers on the card's page. Don't include personal details in a question.
- Privacy mode keeps everything on your device: no AI, nothing saved, not even the cards you hold.
- My cards. The names of the cards you add are saved only in your browser, never on our servers. Clear them any time from the privacy panel.
- Apply links. When you click Apply, we count one anonymous click for that card for the day, so we can be paid our referral fee. We don't record your IP address or anything about you.
- Visitor counts. We count visits ourselves, without cookies and without storing anything in your browser. For each visit we count the page, the website you came from, your country (from your connection) and whether you use a phone or a computer, plus a few actions such as sharing a result. We keep only daily totals. To count a visitor once a day, we use a scrambled code made from your internet address and browser, with a secret that changes every day; the code is never saved. Nothing is counted in privacy mode or when your browser sends Global Privacy Control. No tracking across sites, no advertising profiles.
- Browser extension. It reads only the address of the site you're on, makes no network requests, and keeps your cards in your browser.
We don't sell or share data, because we don't collect personal data. This approach follows India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
How we make money
CreditSelect is free. When you apply for a card through our Apply button and the bank approves you, the bank or its marketing partner may pay us a referral fee. That's how we pay for the site.
- It never changes the ranking. Cards are ranked only by what they're worth to you, using the same rules for every card, including cards that pay us nothing.
- You pay nothing extra. Applying through us costs the same as applying on the bank's website.
- Sponsored placements, if we ever show them, will be clearly labelled "Sponsored" and kept separate from your results.
Terms
- CreditSelect gives general information to help you compare credit cards. It isn't financial advice, and we're not a bank, lender or loan agent.
- Card rewards, fees and eligibility change often. We work to keep them current, but always confirm the latest terms on the bank's website before you apply.
- Approval is always the bank's decision. Our approval odds are estimates.
- Savings shown are estimates based on what you tell us and the card's published rules.
- Bank names and card names belong to their owners. Card designs shown on CreditSelect are illustrations, not official card art.
